Award

Award winner Charles Wyatts work shows his fascination with the similarities
between highly refined structural and mechanical parts and natural forms.
Structures such as polyhedra, geodesic domes and honeycombs can be found in
nature and engineering.

With her winning artefacts, Michaela Bruton aims to understand experiences
encoded in and evoked by objects today, compared to those in pre-modern times.
The work explores contradictory concerns between the symbols of industrial
civilisations and ancient tribal values.

And double award winner Catherine Da Costas interest lies in the science fiction
genre. She uses its tendency to exploit science and technology in human life to
engage in critique of contemporary culture and ideas about progress through her
gold and silversmithing work.
