Anton Emdin collects 2011 Award for Best in "Magazine Feature / Magazine Illustration" from the US National Cartoonists Society (NCS).

The Reuben Awards are the 'Oscars of Cartooning', and Sydney artist Anton Emdin has become the first Australian recipient in any division.

The NCS is a prestigious group of established cartoonists, illustrators and animators. It is the largest group of its kind comprised of over 500 professionally engaged artists.

The 65th Annual Reuben Awards banquet was held on the 28th May in Boston, Massachusetts and was attended by Anton alongside Australian Cartoonist Association (ACA) President and Ginger Meggs artist, Jason Chatfield.

Now Anton also has the honour of being one of only two people to have won both a 'Stanley' (from the ACA) and a Reuben (NCS). Anton has previously been awarded the Stanley Award for Magazine Illustration in 2009 and 2010.

Anton (35) is based in Sydney where he lives with his wife and children. His clients include Mens Health, People, MAD Magazine (US and Aust.) and The Spectator Australia. More of his work can be seen at Anton Emdin
