RMIT Gallery voted the best in Melbourne

RMIT Gallery has been voted best cultural excursion in Melbourne in the recent

Toyota Yaris Ultimate City competition.

The gallery features in a YouTube clip as the cultural face of Melbourne, alongside

a select group of fashionable cafes and bars.

A film crew visited the gallery during the recent Super Human: Revolution of the

Species (5 November 5 December) exhibition, dubbing it “the ultimate university

gallery”.

They spoke to RMIT Gallery Director Suzanne Davies about RMIT University-

trained artists who feature in the gallery’s exhibitions.

“Melbourne artists coming from RMIT are fantastic,” Ms Davies said.

“They are highly innovative, aware of all the possibilities and professionally

focused.”

The film crew couldn't resist playing with Angela Main's interactive work, Metazoa,

and were intrigued by Donna Franklin’s living fungus dress, Fibre Reactive.
