HUGH JACKMAN RETURNS TO AUSTRALIA ON APRIL 8th!
AUSTRALIAN FANS TO SEE THE WORLD’S FIRST LOOK AT
X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE!
Twentieth Century Fox is delighted to announce today that Hugh Jackman will return to Australia on
Wednesday 8th April to unveil the WORLD’S FIRST LOOK at exclusive footage from his new film, X-
MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, which slashes into cinemas on 29th April 2009.
Hugh Jackman, will descend onto Cockatoo Island, Sydney Harbour on 8th April. Cockatoo Island, the
principle filming location for X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, will play host to
this show-stopping
launch event where much of the movie’s set has been recreated especially for the day, allowing fans
to get up close and personal with the film and its leading man.
The first X-Men movie, was released in 2000 to critical and audience acclaim, making Hugh an instant
international movie star in the role that he made his own. “X2,” released in 2003, and “X-Men: The
Last Stand,” out in 2006, also achieved huge global success. To date the X-Men franchise has
grossed over US$1.1B at the worldwide Box Office to date, with each instalment more commercially
successful than the last. Anticipation and interest in
X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE is huge and it
looks set to continue that winning streak.
Of his return to Australia, Hugh Jackman said: “I'm really excited to be coming home to show the
Australian fans of X-Men the first sneak peak of X-Men Origins: Wolverine. We had a great time
making the film in Sydney last year and I think everyone is going to enjoy the finished product.”
Sydney is the very first stop on Hugh’s world tour to promote X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE which is
launching round the world at the end of April.
Synopsis:
In X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE, Hugh Jackman reprises the role that made him a
superstar, as the fierce fighting machine who possesses amazing healing powers, adamantium claws,
and a primal fury known as berserker rage. X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE stays true to the tone of
the X-Men motion picture franchise, continuing the films’ balance between spectacle and reality.
