Bayreuth Festival's Production of Tristan und Isolde Goes Online on August 9

    - The Siemens Festival Night 2009 - The Upcoming Highlight for Music Fans all Over the Globe


   

Through public screening/broadcast at the Bayreuth Festplatz and the live, realtime webstream on the internet,

the Siemens Festival Night 2009 introduces Richard Wagner's universe to audiences of all ages and interests, all

over the world. An on-demand version of "Tristan und Isolde" will be available for users from August 10 to 23 as

well.


    Depending on the user's computer facilities, the viewer can choose among three different broadcast standards

for excellent picture and sound quality. Another new feature this year is Web stream in HD quality with 2,500 to

3,000 kbits/sec., and a version with German subtitles. In order to deliver an interference free live broadcast, an

internet-based backup version will be on hold. Should the satellite transmission be interrupted, for example through

storm conditions, the viewer will still be able to enjoy an on going video performance.

and from August 8 to 10 for 24-hours. The Siemens Festival Night makes opera attractive to younger target groups

who have not experienced classical music theater before. It also brings together passionate opera lovers, proven

experts, interested novices of all ages and the audience of tomorrow in front of the screen and on the internet.
