DVD RELEASE DATE: 6th of January 2010
The acclaimed sleeper hit of Tribeca Film Festival BITTER & TWISTED will be released on
DVD on January 6th 2010.
BITTER & TWISTED has received 14 award nominations from its 19 international festival
screenings, including the prestigious Milan Film Festival (MIFF) Leonardo’s Horse
Awards; considered to be Italy’s “Oscars of independent Cinema”, the film was
nominated for Best Film, Best Actress and Best Screenplay. At home, it was nominated
for the IF Independent Spirit Award, two AFI Awards, and two Film Critics Circle Awards,
winning Best Actress (Noni Hazlehurst) at the FCC awards. David Stratton (At the
Movies) gave the film four stars.
BITTER & TWISTED is the debut of Christopher Weekes, who is presently in New York
working on his next feature film. Only 24 years old when he directed BITTER & TWISTED,
Weekes has been called “a talent to watch out for” (Vicky Roach, The Daily Telegraph).
BITTER & TWISTED DVD is an Australian Film Syndicate release available through
Gryphon Entertainment from 6th January.
