Village Cinemas introduces the latest state-of-the-art 3D
technology - NOW at ALL locations!*
Village Cinemas leads the way in advanced cinema development, by becoming the only exhibitor in Victoria to have a 3D digital projector installed at every one of its Melbourne cinema locations.
Village Digital 3D has arrived!
Village Cinemas introduces Village Digital 3D, the cinema experience that will have audiences literally jumping out of their seats. For imagery that seems real enough to touch, forget the old red and blue cardboard glasses! Village Cinemas has followed 3D cinema into the digital era, by installing the leading RealD 3D system at all of its locations.
The world's first and leading stereoscopic projection system for digital cinema, ReaID technology was first deployed in 2005. It is now the most widely deployed 3d projection system in the world, with over 5000 installations worldwide.
Complimented by Dolby Digital surround sound and stunning imagery, Village Cinemas Digital 3D will put you right in the middle of the action. Enjoy the unique cinema experience that simply can't be replicated at home!
The 3D technology works by presenting viewers with a slightly separated set of images for the left and right eye in such rapid succession that our brain perceives the images as appearing at the same time (with the RealD system you are actually being shown 144 images every second).
Our 3D eyewear is designed to fit easily and comfortably on any guest over the age of 3 years old even over the top of prescription glasses! The glasses are yours to take home as a souvenir of your 3D experience with Village Digital 3D.
Better yet, combine the latest in 3D technology with the ultimate cinema experience, by catching a 3D film in Gold Class exclusively available at Village Cinemas Gold Class at Doncaster and the Jam Factory.
You can also experience a 3D film with maximum impact on our AWESOME Vmax screens exclusively available at Vmax Southland, Karingal and Doncaster.
With ReaID technology, Village Digital 3D will take its guests into an exciting new dimension in cinema, and with the schedule of awesome releases ahead expect to see some of the most anticipated films in digital 3D NOW at all village cinemas!
Village Cinema's Australian General Manager, Chris Shine, says "not since the transition from black and white TV to colour, and the advent of "talking movies", have we seen such a revolution in movie watching. And, to see this on a screen the size of a house, is the ultimate movie going experience, and one that Village are excited to be leading".
