NRMA MERIMBULA BEACH HOLIDAY PARK
Tuesday 9
February
2010:
A collection of more than 150 lovingly restored vintage
vehicles
will be on display on Sunday 21
February at the NRMA Merimbula Beach
Holiday Park at Short Point Beach on the South Coast.
NRMA Director Alan Evans
said the seaside venue was a glorious backdrop for the vintage
car enthusiasts gathering, an event
which is becoming a much anticipated and popular
annual attraction on the Sapphire Coast Events calendar.
Around 3,000 people attended the 2009 event and organisers are hoping for 3,500 this year
as the number of car owners participating has increased, Mr Evans said.
Car enthusiasts will be able to look at rare vehicles, classic vintage vehicles and sports cars
on display.
The one day event organised by the NRMA Merimbula Beach Holiday Park and the Sapphire
Coast Historical Vehicle Club attracts car enthusiasts from the ACT Porsche Club,
Eurobodalla Car Club, Cooma Car Club, Bega Car Club, Sapphire
Coast Car Club, and
Lakes Entrance Car Club.
The cars will be on display from 10.00am 4.00pm and admission is a $2 gold coin donation
per person. All funds raised will be donated to Can Assist a non-profit organisation which
supports and assists people undergoing cancer treatment in the local area.
A full day of entertainment featuring local talent Andy ODonnell, Gary Eastwood, The Lounge
Lizards plus Elvis and Pavarotti tributes are sure to delight the crowd.
In addition to the Sunday Gala Day, Normie Rowe supported by the Stumbling Wilbury's will
perform on Saturday night, this event has been organised by Pambula Rotary Club, Bega
Cheese & Frankie. J. Holden tickets start from $12 and proceeds will help build the Pambula
Aquatic Centre.
NRMA Merimbula Beach Holiday Park will be providing plenty of shade. Cheeky Mango Café
will be preparing reasonably priced food & refreshments.
