Global Illumination launches Breast Cancer Month
and raises over $200,000 for research
The National Breast Cancer Foundation launched Breast Cancer Month in
style last night with a glamorous dinner party as part of the Estée Lauder
Companies Global Illumination campaign.
The event attracted Sydneys A list including ambassadors Jane Flemming,
who also hosted the event, Zoe Naylor, with partner Aaron Jeffery, Katrina
Warren, Tracey Spicer and Cindy Pan.
A Dinner Party with Style was held at Summit Restaurant, Australia Square
with guests enjoying pre-dinner drinks on the George Street forecourt before
moving to the restaurant for a delicious four course menu prepared by Chef
& Owner Michael Moore and accompanied by Margan Family Wines from
the Hunter Valley.
Summit Restaurants new private dining room, Salon Prive by Champagne
Taittinger was transformed into a tasting room for the evening and proved to
be a real hot spot with a constant steam of guests heading in to taste the
best of Champagne Taittingers range.
The unique night allowed guests to relax and enjoy their evening without the
raffles and auctions that normal dominate such events. Instead the guests
generously made tax deductible donations to the National Breast Cancer
Foundation to help fund ongoing research.
Performing against a spectacular Sydney backdrop for the evening were
Tamara Jaber and Reigan Derry of Scarlett Belle who also assisted in drawing
the lucky door prizes which included a $13,000 RAND Diamond Ring.
Australia Square was ablaze in pink lights for the evening as were the Sydney
Harbour Bridge pylons (also illuminated tonight) and the Pyrmont Pedestrian
Bridge at Darling Harbour, which will remain pink until the end of October.

Throughout Breast Cancer Month (October) Australia glows pink to raise
awareness of breast cancer and highlight the importance of breast cancer
research.
The Global Landmark Illumination Initiative was created by Estée Lauder

world pink as a symbol breast cancer awareness.
2010 marks the 11th Anniversary of the Global Landmark Illumination Initiative.
Some of the landmarks that have participated since 2000 include: Sydney
