Grammy-Award Winning Artist Miri Ben-Ari Enlists
Star Power for a Good Cause

                  Gedenk Movement Targets American Youth
                      to Educate About the Holocaust

    NEW YORK, 1 May /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --
Grammy-winning artist Miri Ben-Ari, aka the Hip-Hop Violinist and a third generation to
Holocaust survivors, is launching a new campaign on behalf of her non-profit organization
Gedenk ("remember" in Yiddish) to promote awareness and education about the Jewish
Holocaust to young America.

The campaign will kick off with three public service announcements debuting, Friday,
May 2nd, "Yom Hashoah" at 1pm EDT at the Paramount Pictures Screening Room in Times Square
and on Viacom's Time Square Billboard. The PSA's will depict how ordinary people can
become victims of hate crimes. The campaign will include quotes from celebrities and
prominent political figures that contemplate the question: why it is important for young
people to learn about the Holocaust?

Ben-Ari states, "I founded Gedenk because I discovered there was an urgent need to
expand youth education about the Holocaust. As a third generation to Holocaust survivors,
I was appalled by studies showing that 50% of kids graduating high school in America don't
know what the Holocaust is."

Quotes from celebrities and prominent individuals include:

"It's very important for kids to know about history; their
understanding of the past can help build the future."
         - Wyclef

"If we don't teach about history we are likely to repeat it. Any
anti-Semitism is a mark of evil in the world."
         - Jon Voight

"I lived in Germany for a number of years and was able to visit the
concentration camps just outside of Munich. It shows what happens when
the evil, dark, negative side of humanity is allowed to prevail."
         - Donna Summer

"We have a responsibility to fight against hate and
genocide and to acknowledge the history of such inexcusable tragedies as
      the Holocaust."
         - John Legend
