Prime Mover opens Big Screen Australian Film Festival in Darwin

Award-winning writer/director David Caesar and lead actor Michael Dorman will be our special guests
when the Big Screen Australian Film Festival comes to Darwin for the eighth year in September.
David and Michael will introduce the NT premiere of Prime Mover at the opening night screening on
Friday 11 September at 6.30pm, at Deckchair Cinema in Darwin. Prime Mover is a diesel-charged
romance about ambition, pressure, responsibility and the love shared by a man, a woman and his truck.
David has had a diverse career as a director and writer for both film and television. His television credits
include Dangerous, All Saints, Wildside and the award-winning mini-series R.A.N. Four of David's films
have been nominated for AFI awards including Dirty Deeds, Mullet, Idiot Box and Greenkeeping.
Michael first came to prominence on the small screen with his role in the hugely successful Australian
drama series The Secret Life of Us. His film credits have included 50 Ways of Saying Fabulous, Suburban
Mayhem, West and Acolytes. He is a star on the rise and will be seen in the upcoming thriller
Daybreakers opposite Ethan Hawke and Sam Neill and Triangle co-starring Melissa George.

Wake in Fright, the film had been lost for decades until a chance discovery of the film in America
led to its restoration by the National Film and Sound Archive. Saturday 12 September, 7.30pm at

Deckchair Cinema.
