SAMPLE INDONESIA IN THE HEART OF MELBOURNE

Come and sample the astonishing breadth and diversity of Indonesia’s culinary and

cultural delights, its breathtaking tourism destinations and exclusive business

opportunities at this year’s Festival Indonesia.

Festival Indonesia is Australia’s largest Indonesian-Australian exhibition and in 2008,

for the first time, will take place in the magnificent Royal Exhibition Building in Carlton,

Melbourne from 29 – 31st August 2008.

Now in its fourth year the free Festival will become home to over 500 performers and

delegates from across the archipelago who will showcase their expertise in the fields of

investment, trade, tourism and culture.

The City of Melbourne is a proud sponsor of Festival Indonesia, which showcases the

best Indonesia has to offer, including investment, trade and tourism.

The Acting Lord Mayor Gary Singer said, “As the Indonesian community is an integral

part of Melbourne, Festival Indonesia is an event not to be missed. To spend a great

day sampling Indonesian culture and cuisine, or exploring potential business

opportunities, make sure you come along to Festival Indonesia 2008.”

Immerse yourself in Indonesia’s rich and diverse culture and satisfy all the senses with

it’s colour and spectacle. Performances throughout the venue will include fashion

parades from some of Indonesia’s most beautiful textiles, spectacular dance groups

from Bali, Java, Sulawesi and Sumatra along with Australian based contemporary and

traditional musical groups performing live onstage. Scattered throughout the venue will

be a multitude of tempting culinary delights and entertainment from street performers,

games for children and much more.

Over the three days mix business and pleasure, as only Indonesia knows how and

discover the hidden opportunities of Indonesia through extensive networking options

with prospective counterparts.

The Festival will be opened by the Indonesian Ambassador for Australia, H.E. TM

Hamzah Thayeb and launched in spectacular style at an opening ceremony from

10.30am, Friday 29th August featuring Indonesian artists, musicians, dancers and

fashion.

Come join us at Festival Indonesia 2008!

Friday 29th will have a particular focus on business.

From July, interested parties will be invited to register on the Festival Indonesia website

www.festivalindonesia.com.au to participate in a “match making” session. Once

registered, participants will be matched with complementary exhibitors or visiting

industry representatives. Registered buyers and sellers within each industry will be

identified for a networking session and for further one on one meetings on site.
