Future fashion stars reveal designs for Australian icons
A showcase of designs by RMIT University students for iconic Australian fashion
stores Target, Country Road and Sportsgirl will be unveiled at the launch of the
Young Essential Project (YEP) tomorrow night.
The YEP 2009 launch will feature designs by Diploma of Fashion and Textiles
Merchandising students created especially for the big three fashion stores.
The winners of the project will be announced at the launch, being held at Eve bar
and lounge, Southbank, on Tuesday, 13 October, from 6pm to 8pm
The winning students and their designs will be available for photo opportunities on
Wednesday, 14 October.
Now in its 10th year, YEP was initiated to provide students with the opportunity to
work to a commercial brief for key Australian fashion retailers.
Many past YEP winners have seen their capsule collections produced and sold in
store.
