NEW SEASON LOOKS FROM PARIS AT BOSSY HAIR
Parisian coiffing and couture is set to sweep the high-fashion runways world-wide this Spring
and local hairstylists plan on bringing that concept to the streets of Brisbane.
Brisbanes Bossy Hair founder, Antoinette Thorpe, says old-style French glamour is making
a comeback and will feature strongly in salons this season.
The big volume blow dry and glamour is back whilst keeping it very girly and feminine,
just as the French like it, she says.
What will be hot this Spring are soft, creamy blondes in pinks and apricots, natural waves,
strong, natural, dark roots fading to raw vanilla blonde, and subtle caramel peek-a-boo foils.
Antoinette has encouraged her team of hairstylists to find inspiration from the French capital
and create innovative and elegant new colouring and styles for an upcoming So You Think
You Can Colour competition between the 12 Brisbane-based Bossy Hair salons.
In less than one month Bossy Hair will send their competition winner to Paris to attend
couture and cocktail events with the worlds most talented hairdressers at the Wella Trend
Vision competitions live final, where more than 70 countries will compete.
We want to bring Trend Vision concepts to the Bossy Brisbane community the latest in
couture hair straight from the catwalks of Paris, says Antoinette, who is known for styling
fashion-forward photo shoots and events, including entertainers and VIP guests at the recent
Splendor in the Grass festival in Byron Bay.
Last years competition winner, and the owner of Bossy Hair Windsor, Michele McGahan,
says the event adds a competitive edge that inspires her staff to stretch their creativity and
imagination to a whole new level.

The event involves a lot of preparation - dressing up our models in French couture and
hiring professional make-up artists and photographers - we really go all out for this event and
it gets quite competitive, she says.
It motivates our hairdressers to keep on top of all the latest trends world-wide and to find
inspiration from places they wouldnt normally think of.
The So You Think You Can Colour competition winner will be announced at an afternoon
cocktail party and fashion parade featuring Parisian couture at Mirra Private Events Room in
Fortitude Valley on Sunday September 26.
