The future of sustainable fashion

RMIT University fashion academic Sue Thomas will explore the future of
sustainable fashion in a keynote address at a major education conference in
Brisbane this weekend.
What are the latest trends in green and ethical fashion?
How are fashion designers and clothing manufacturers responding to the
environmental concerns facing the industry?
What is the environmental impact of cheap, disposable fashion?
How important are changes in consumer behaviour to the greening of the fashion
industry?
Ms Thomas has published widely on ethics and innovation in the fashion industry,
with recent papers including green wool, inclusive fashion design and social
justice in fashion.
She is currently researching a PhD in ethics as relating to sustainability in the
fashion industry.
Ms Thomas will present a keynote address and workshop at the Home Economics
Institute of Australia (Queensland) state conference in Brisbane on 23 August.
