Unemployed father of two Enzo Guirano from Sydney wins

Unemployed father of two Enzo Guirano, from Sydney's inner west suburb of Lilyfield has been crowned the

winner of the 'Anolon Cookware search for Australia's Gourmet Authority Competition'. Competing against

finalist, Vikki Kourbelis from Adelaide at a cook-off held at Sydney’s Opera House.  Enzo's recipe of yellow fin

tuna impressed judge, renowned chef Matt Moran and has won Enzo the cooking experience of a lifetime - A

cooking master class with Matt Moran at his ARIA restaurant in Sydney and $3000 worth of the prestigious

Anolon cookware range. Enzo gave away his $120,000 a year job working as a salesman for the construction

industry to pursue his passion for cooking and wants to inspire others to cook!

How did he feel about being crowned the winner? "Oh gosh I'm overwhelmed to win this competition.  It’s

motivated me to continue to pursue my dream of cooking." 

Matt Moran was impressed with the quality of entries and found it a difficult decision choosing the overall

winner. “It was a tough job choosing between Enzo and Vicky in the final. What I liked about Enzo’s dish was

it was fresh produce done simply and the yellow fin tuna was cooked beautifully. It’s clear Enzo has a real

passion for cooking and I look forward to him coming to ARIA for his cooking master class.” 

For the two months, Anolon cookware and Matt Moran have been encouraging Australians to unleash the


to win a cooking experience of a lifetime. Entries were then whittled down to two finalists per state who then

competed in a public cook off for their chance to be part of the nation’s top six. The top six were then flown to

Sydney to cook at a dinner party for the Aria Awards guests where the two finalists were selected.
