Unemployed father of two Enzo Guirano, from Sydney's inner west suburb of Lilyfield has been crowned the
winner of the 'Anolon Cookware search for Australia's Gourmet Authority Competition'. Competing against
finalist, Vikki Kourbelis from Adelaide at a cook-off held at Sydneys Opera House. Enzo's recipe of yellow fin
tuna impressed judge, renowned chef Matt Moran and has won Enzo the cooking experience of a lifetime - A
cooking master class with Matt Moran at his ARIA restaurant in Sydney and $3000 worth of the prestigious
Anolon cookware range. Enzo gave away his $120,000 a year job working as a salesman for the construction
industry to pursue his passion for cooking and wants to inspire others to cook!
How did he feel about being crowned the winner? "Oh gosh I'm overwhelmed to win this competition. Its
motivated me to continue to pursue my dream of cooking."
Matt Moran was impressed with the quality of entries and found it a difficult decision choosing the overall
winner. It was a tough job choosing between Enzo and Vicky in the final. What I liked about Enzos dish was
it was fresh produce done simply and the yellow fin tuna was cooked beautifully. Its clear Enzo has a real
passion for cooking and I look forward to him coming to ARIA for his cooking master class.
For the two months, Anolon cookware and Matt Moran have been encouraging Australians to unleash the
gourmet within by entering the details of their signature recipe online at www.anolon.com.au for the chance
to win a cooking experience of a lifetime. Entries were then whittled down to two finalists per state who then
competed in a public cook off for their chance to be part of the nations top six. The top six were then flown to
Sydney to cook at a dinner party for the Aria Awards guests where the two finalists were selected.
