Arnotts Tim Tam named after champion horse
As Aussies celebrate the Melbourne Cup this week, did you know that
Australias favourite chocolate biscuit, Arnotts Tim Tam was named after the
horse that won the Kentucky Derby in 1958?
Tim Tam creator, Ross Arnott, was visiting the United States at the time of the
race and thought the name of the winning horse was perfect for the biscuit he
was developing, and he was right on the money!
Arnotts Tim Tam has been the odds on favourite ever since it was launched
in 1964. Per head of population, Tim Tam is the worlds most popular
chocolate biscuit.
So, as you watch the race that stops the nation on Tuesday, remember, you
just never know where inspiration for the name of Arnotts next delicious
bikkie will come from. Anyone for a Zipping, Manighar, or Descarado?.....
