Coles rejects Choice meat pie claims

Coles has reassured customers that its Coles pie range meets the Food Standards Code for meat content, as well as offering great value and taste.

A Choice report issued today claims tests showed one of Coles nine housebrand pies fell below the minimum meat content required under the code.

Further accredited laboratory testing showed that the pie in question had a meat content of 30.5 percent well above the 25 percent required minimum. The product manufacturer conducts rigorous testing during production to ensure the pies meet all quality and regulatory standards.

Coles absolutely stands by the quality of its housebrand pie range.
