FiSA 2010 to be the Largest Show in 15 Years
SAO PAULO, Aug. 4 /PRNewswire-AsisaNet/ --
FiSA South America, Latin America's largest and most comprehensive event
for the food ingredients sector, takes place in Sao Paulo on September 21-23.
Brazil's food industry is growing; 2010 sales revenue is expected to be
10% up from its total of R$ 291.6 billion in 2009. This has a direct impact
on the 15th Food Ingredients South America (FiSA) Trade Show, which expected
to be the biggest ever: twice its size of 2008, with 95% of the exhibition
area already booked. FiSA is Latin America's largest event for the food
ingredients industry, and will be held at the Expo Center Norte Exhibition
Center in Sao Paulo, Brazil on September 21-23, 2010.
FiSA comprises not only of a trade show but also includes an exclusive
congress for the sector covering innovations and trends. The trade show is
vast - in 14,000m(2) of the Blue Pavilion of Sao Paulo's Expo Center Norte,
more than 250 exhibitors from Brazil and all over the world will present
state-of-the-art developments, trends, new products and processes for food
production. The Show's main sponsor is Duas Rodas Industrial. Other important
exhibitors from Brazil and worldwide include, Cargill, Bunge, Purac, Tate &
Lyle, Gelita, Fortitech, Doehler, Solae, Alibra, Vogler, and M.Cassab - among
an enormous range of other companies, large and small.
"FiSA is Brazil's only food ingredients event and is a fundamental
element in the development of the Brazilian foods industry. As well as
providing the ideal environment for transfer of technology, it is the best
platform for launches, networking and making new partnerships," says Joris
van Wijk, Executive Director of UBM Brazil, the Show's organizer.
Marco Bootz, Latin American Sales Director of Purac, says: "We believe
that FiSA is highly important for the food ingredients market; it is an
excellent opportunity to form relationships with clients and to strengthen
our brand, enriched by the content of the Congresses."
The event programme also includes the traditional FiSA Awards - the food
industry's "Oscars" - recognizing the most innovative new products and food
ingredients.
Food safety
Following the dynamics of the global food market, FiSA 2010 will include
a space solely dedicated to food safety. The FiPSS Pavilion (Processing
Safety and Services) will be the meeting point for food manufacturers,
traders and service suppliers looking to adapt new legislation and consumer
requirements. The FiPSS Pavilion covers a range of issues, from quality to
health qualification and traceability. This year's leading innovations in
food safety are expected to be in analytical equipment for quality and
contamination control, clean environments and biotechnology.
FiSA 2010 is expected to beat its record of 8,000 visitors from more than
40 countries, achieved at the last FiSA, in 2008. This year, more than 12,000
professional are expected to visit the show and include CEOs, Directors,
executives in purchasing, sales, marketing and quality control, and
researchers.
