MEDIA RELEASE PR40750

Food ingredient Asia in Indonesia to be the Biggest Fi Asia Show Ever

JAKARTA, Indonesia, Aug. 10 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --

Fi Asia, who will debut in Jakarta, Indonesia this September, has been completely

sold out. To monitor the streaming demand, organizers have opened a waiting-list for

exhibiting at the show. More than 200 companies have already secured their platform

to introduce their latest developments to the ASEAN region.

Fi Asia has been serving the South East Asian markets for 15 years. Up

until now the show has been located in Bangkok, Thailand; however, in 2010,

the region's largest consumer of food ingredients could no longer be ignored.

In absolute terms Indonesia's 235 million population (the 4th highest in the

world) accounts for 51% of the ASEAN region's food additives consumption.

"International interest in Indonesia is at an all-time high," says

Vincent Brain, Event Director. "The global recession has not impacted on

Indonesia and GDP growth has remained around the 7% mark. The stable

political climate is good for business and an expanding middle class is

driving processed food consumption. More disposable income is attracting high

levels of spending on products previously reserved for the super-rich.

Indonesia's abundant human and natural resources means that this growth will

accelerate."

"Those who take an early size of the market will see compound growth as

economic development gathers pace. As a result, Fi Asia is seeing the return

of some of the big names to the show such as Cargill, Kerry Ingredients, CP

Kelko, Fortitech, Pharmachem, BASF, Purac, plus many others - making this the

largest Fi Asia ever."

As well as a host of companies to visit there will also be numerous

educational opportunities available. The Indonesian Association of Food

Technologists will be holding their annual conference alongside Fi Asia,

including various gatherings of food technologists with top-level

international speakers. The body representing food processing - GAPMI - will

hold a members meeting on-site. Additionally, there will be free-of-charge

seminars held by key exhibitors, who will present new products and

applications.

Fi Asia 2010 will run from 29 September - 1 October 2010 at Jakarta

International Expo centre, Jakarta, Indonesia.

To find out what all the excitement is about in this major emerging

attendance free-of-charge.
