Koelnmesse's LivingKitchen event concept is celebrating its premiere in

2011. The high-impact blend of exhibition and event spaces is supremely

convincing and addresses both trade visitors and consumers in equal measures.

With the current registration status, the Cologne-based trade fair organiser

has already exceeded its target and has received firm reservations from

almost all well-known manufacturers within the kitchen furniture and

household appliance industry. Once again, the LivingKitchen finally offers

Germany a kitchen forum of world standing and the highest level of appeal for

the trade, hobby cooks, gourmands, technology fans and interior design

lovers.

Cologne will once again be the focus of the international kitchen

industry. In January 2011, the LivingKitchen trade fair - the new

international kitchen event - will be held between January 18 - 23 in

parallel with the established and globally successful imm cologne furniture

industry platform. LivingKitchen is based on a unique and innovative concept

with various events developed in conjunction with major industry players and

is aimed at trade visitors and consumers in equal measures. And the number of

registrations, increasing virtually by the day, further underlines that most

companies have wanted a major kitchen platform in Cologne for some time now.

Huge media resonance and a large number of registrations for the premiere

While 27 companies had already guaranteed their attendance at the trade

fair shortly before the official announcement of the new event in January

2010, this number has since increased to over 90. Currently, the

participating exhibitors represent an excellent cross-section of all intended

target groups, comprising both kitchen furniture and appliance producers and

manufacturers of supplementary products such as sinks, fittings, refined work

surfaces, accessories, lighting and services for kitchens. And these are not

unknown companies who have pledged their allegiance to Koelnmesse's new trade

fair concept. "Almost all well-known German kitchen furniture producers are

on board - and we are in close contact with many more. Interest is huge -

also from the household appliance sector. Furthermore, we are registering

increasing commitments from foreign manufacturers", reports Frank Haubold,

LivingKitchen Product Manager.

Koelnmesse is an experienced trade fair organiser within the interiors,

furniture and supplier sectors. Both the imm cologne and the interzum and

Orgatec trade fairs have been continuing to make their marks for decades now

despite competing events and recessions, have excellent reputations and are

of global standing. And kitchen trade fairs in Cologne also look back on a

long and rich tradition. As the German kitchen furniture industry is a major

international player, it makes total sense to once again establish a

well-known, global leading trade fair in Cologne. The continuing strong

demand for exhibition space has meant that we are adding an additional hall

for the show at this early stage. For the premiere event, we had originally

planned two halls and an atrium - but Koelnmesse has now been forced to

expand capacities to include a further hall. "Our target of hosting the first

LivingKitchen with around 80 companies has already been exceeded. And we

still have more than seven months to go before the trade fair opens its

doors. I am absolutely certain that all the major international industry

players will be in Cologne in January 2011", comments Gerald Böse, Chairman

of the Board of Koelnmesse GmbH, on the reservations success to date.

LivingKitchen - the event experience for the kitchen

The trade fair concept is extremely coherent: this kitchen extravaganza

will also be open to the general public over three days, offers a superlative

range of exhibitors and will be "alive" in every sense of the word: a live

program full of highlights will be kitchen heaven, providing the perfect

impulses for increasing sales.

Koelnmesse has planned not only various cooking shows across the trade

fair grounds, but also cocktail presentations and wine and coffee tasting

sessions. And kids will also be able to develop an interest in cooking and

baking and learn how to have fun in the kitchen. In a nutshell: LivingKitchen

promises to become a real experience that provides the perfect backdrop for

kitchens and will appeal to both trade visitors and consumers alike.

To further underline the business character of the trade fair, Koelnmesse

has even amended the opening hours: every day, the LivingKitchen will be

opening at 9 a.m. and closing at 6 p.m. Furthermore, the trade fair organiser

in Cologne has added a preview day on January 17, 2011. This provides

exhibitors and media representatives with a further opportunity to invite

customers for intensive discussions and allow them to experience the range of

new products in a relaxed atmosphere.

So, the stage has been perfectly set for a new, high-end trade fair - it

is not without reason that Koelnmesse conducted numerous confidential and

constructive discussions with industry experts and potential exhibitors

during the planning phase. "What gives us a cutting edge is the close

collaboration with the manufacturers, the retail sector and the industry

associations. There is not only consensus in terms of the objectives, but

there is also consensus with regard to action", emphasises Gerald Böse. In

addition to all of this, the charms of Cologne as a trade fair city are

undisputed and the infrastructure for both exhibitors and visitors is

perfect. With the excellent international reach of the trade fair location,

exhibitors will be able to expand their export activities and make new

contacts throughout the world.
