Australia’s National Nude Food Day gains support from international chef Jamie Oliver
7 Oct 10: Jamie Oliver has thrown his support behind National Nude Food Day, by pledging to bring a nutritious,
rubbish free lunch to work this coming Wednesday 13 October.

National Nude Food Day, supported by Nude Food Movers in partnership with Nutrition Australia
Australians who are overweight or obese and (2) the amount of waste going to landfill.
Over 1,000 schools and half a million Australians will be participating in Nude Food Day, a part of National
Nutrition Week. They will join forces to proactively work towards healthy bodies and a healthy planet by bringing a
nutritious, rubbish free ‘nude’ lunch to school or work.
Nude Food Day will also help to raise funds for Nutrition Australia. This month, Smash Enterprises’ Nude Food
directly to Nutrition Australia’s Healthy Schools programs, to educate children on the benefits of good nutrition.
“The launch of Nude Food Day is very exciting for us, as it represents everything we stand for; encouraging
Australians to be healthy and to look after their environment,” says Dale Harbinson, Managing Director, Smash
Enterprises.
Members of Parliament have also thrown their support behind National Nude Food Day with Ministers for Health and
Education in each state and territory helping to promote the event within their departments.
There are a number of flagship schools in each state holding special Nude Food Day events that are open to
the media. These events include lunchtime picnics, guest speakers, nude food breakfasts and more.
