FiSA Congress Highlights Latest Innovations and Trends in Food Ingredients

Specialists from seven countries, representing the food industry and
food-related research institutions, will present at FiSA 2010 - Latin
America's most comprehensive event for the food ingredients sector
In parallel with its Trade Show, exhibiting new technologies, processes and
products, FiSA 2010 - Latin America's largest and most comprehensive event for
food ingredients - will also hold an International Congress, with presentations
on the sector's main innovations and trends.
The 15th Food ingredients South America (FiSA) will be held on September
21-23, in the Blue Pavilion (Pavilhao Azul) of the Expo Center Norte exhibition
centre, Sao Paulo, Brazil.
The programming of the FiSA 2010 Congress is divided into five major
subjects, all with fundamental importance for the food industry: Cost reduction
Vs. Innovation; Intestinal Health; New Natural and Functional Ingredients;
Processes for the Food Industry; and Functional Ingredients and their
Applications.
Speakers and lecturers from seven countries - Brazil, Mexico, the United
States, Sweden, Belgium, Argentina and Holland - will present at the Congress.
Speakers include executives and researchers from more than 25 companies and
institutions - including ITAL - the Food Technology Institute, linked to the
Sao Paulo State Government Agriculture and Supply Department.
The congress will feature more than 25 presentations. Highlights of the
subject matter include: "Applications of Transglutaminase in Meat Products -
Innovation and Reduction of Cost", "Enrichment of Foods with Fibre", "Global
Trends in the Development of Natural Functional Ingredients", "An Original
Diuretic and Weight Control Agent Produced from the Fruit of the Cactus",
"Strengthen your Product Line with Bone and Joint Nutrients", and "A New Form
of Soluble Propolis Extract as a Functional Ingredient for Foods and Beverages".
The program was constructed by the Technical Committee of FiSA 2010, which
includes specialists from food organizations and other leading sector
professionals. The Committee evaluated 50 proposals for presentations, taking
into account two main factors: innovation and degree of application for the
food industry.
