ISO/IEC 20000 Candidates Receive Credit in ITIL V3

UTRECHT, Dec. 1 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --

The skill-based broad approach to IT frameworks has earned EXIN's ISO/IEC 20000 certification program

an official status within ITIL V3 Qualification Scheme. The complementary status awarded to the ISO/IEC

20000 certification grants one ITIL V3 credit to successful ISO Foundation candidates which can then

contribute to ITIL V3 Expert certification.

IT Service Management according to ISO/IEC 20000 is designed to give professionals the knowledge they

need to navigate the large selection of IT best practice frameworks available today. This qualification program

is suitable for a wide variety of IT professionals, at all levels, who are involved in the quality improvement of IT

Services and ITSM.

    ITIL V3 opens its doors

The 'Complementary Qualifications Scheme' is an initiative run by The APM Group in association with itSMF

International and its International Qualifications and Certifications Committee (IQC). The scheme allows all

Licensed Exam Institutes to submit certifications for assessment by a panel of experts at the IQC for their

relevance and the supplementary content they offer to the existing V3 portfolio of examinations and

certifications.

The successful outcome of this assessment will be the recognition of these certifications as 'Complementary

Qualifications' and the awarding of credits within the scheme. The Foundation certificate in IT Service

Management according to ISO/IEC 20000 qualification was jointly developed and is offered by both EXIN and

TUV SUD Akademie as part of a broad portfolio of IT Service Management and Quality Management

certifications.

    All paths to excellence

EXIN Sales Director Aldo van Duivenboden said, "The Complementary Qualifications Scheme initiated by

The APM Group is an innovative approach to integrating the complex world of IT best practices. The focus on

skills and competencies offered by the ISO/IEC 20000 Qualification Program makes it a valuable addition to

the renowned ITIL Qualification Scheme used by many of the world's top businesses and organizations. We

are very proud that candidates now widely benefit from the many certification options available on their path to

personal career development."
