ART + AUCTION Is Celebrating Its 30th Anniversary 1979 - 2009

NEW YORK, Sept. 5 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --

The Magazine Looks Back at the Art Market's Highs and Lows, from Keith Haring's Pop Shop to Larry

Salander's Financial Shenanigans

ART + AUCTION, the leading global art-investment magazine, published by Louise Blouin Media, is celebrating

its 30th anniversary. Over the past 30 years, ART + AUCTION has covered the shifting fortunes of the art world

and its inhabitants. In its September issue, it celebrates by offering a collector's edition with reflections on three

decades of the art market.

Featured in the celebratory section are reminiscences by ART + AUCTION's star contributors, Souren Melikian,

Judd Tully, and Jori Finkel, on their many years reporting on this lively, lavish, sometimes scandalous, and often

surprising industry.

"The unbeatable combination of in-depth reporting, stamped with a global footprint and packaged within a

cutting-edge design, animates every issue of Art + Auction, making it a grand vehicle to ride through every season

with. This densely textured combination has made it a two-decade-long pleasure for me as a writer for the

magazine," says Tully, ART + AUCTION's editor at large. "The intellectual engine that drove Art + Auction for close

to fifteen years was the late and great editor-in-chief Bruce Wolmer, who passed away at the age of 59 in 2007. It

was under his eagle-eyed watch that the magazine achieved its high standard of journalistic excellence."

Throughout the current issue are references to the famous and infamous. Among the events and people

highlighted: the once astounding $82 million van Gogh, the embattled auction head Simon de Pury, the Getty's

indicted former director Marion True, the Gallic art world magnates Francois Pinault and Bernard Arnault, the late

photography collector Samuel Wagstaff, the artist and shape-shifter Matthew Barney, and, of course, Andy Warhol.

Louise Blouin, president of Louise Blouin Media, concurs. "For 30 years, ART + AUCTION has been at the

vanguard to make the art world more transparent, the art market more accessible, and art and culture more readily

available in our daily lives. Today, these objectives are more valuable and necessary than ever, and we are grateful

to play this role."
