Artwork or innovation? Art or science?

Super Human Revolution of the Species at RMIT Gallery presents work by a new

generation of artists collaborating with science, research and technological

innovations to explore what it means to be human, now and into the future.

Media are invited to meet the artists and touch and play with their works at an

interactive session tomorrow (Thursday, 5 November).

The following artists and their works will be available for photos and interviews,

from 12pm to 1pm:

Jonathan Duckworth Embracelet and Elements: An investigation into physical

interaction and augmentation in the service of movement rehabilitation for

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) patients.

Leah Heiss Drift: A series of handheld luminescent pods that investigate social

behaviours and pulsate softly when held.

George Poonkhin Khut Alembic and Retort: Sensors embedded in the tables

surface enable participants to navigate layers of electronic sound using

emotionally-mediated changes in their heart rate patterning.

Jill Scott The Electric Retina: This work combines retinal research and

interactive media art with metaphorical associations about visual perception.

Artists Jonathan Duckworth and Leah Heiss will discuss their work and the

interface of art and technology at a free public program on Friday, 6 November.

Interviews can also be arranged with any of the other leading Australasian artists in

the exhibition (see the website for full details).

Super Human Revolution of the Species is presented by the Australian Network for

Art and Technology (ANAT), in association with RMIT Gallery.
