This Friday 21st November, Bird in Hand winery will open its new gallery space with
the support of Paul Greenaway, OAM, Director of Greenaway Art Gallery.
Paul will present Not Quite Landscapes works selected specifically for the Bird in
Hand space to be known as The Gallery.
The Gallery is part of Bird in Hand's ongoing collaboration with the Arts and makes a
significant addition to the cultural landscape in the thriving Adelaide Hills wine region.
Exhibiting artists at the opening include Annette Bezor and Michelle Nikou South
Australians who have works in the Art Gallery of South Australia and The National
Gallery of Australia.
Michelles work is also currently in a major exhibition in Berlin where Paul Greenaway
is showing GAGPROJECTS offering Europe an insight into the innovative work of
his artists.
Noel McKenna will also be part of the opening exhibition. Noel is now working in the
medium of ceramics having been an exhibitor for many years in both the Wynne
Prize for Watercolours and the Sulman Prize for Landscapes held annually at the Art
Gallery of New South Wales.
The work of up and coming young South Australian sculptor, Richard Arnold will be
featured in the forecourt of The Gallery at the opening.
Richardss submission was selected as the winning proposal in last years sculpture
competition based on the prominent Bird in Hand silos.
Bird in Hands inaugural exhibition will run from Friday 21st November through until
mid January 2009.
