CELEBRATED AUSTRALIAN PHOTOGRAPHS TO BE SOLD AT AUCTION
Australias fascination with light and form has influenced some of the worlds great photographs, including a
limited edition collection of ten iconic and celebrated images that will be sold at auction in Melbourne next
month.
Leski Auctions will offer Ten Australian Photographs Folio One, a limited edition boxed set (number
three of 10).
The photographers are Greg Barrett (1943- ), "Vicki Attard, Flashdance"; Olive Cotton (1911-2003),
"Teacup ballet"; Brett Hilder (1945- ), "Indian Rug"; John Lewis (1950- ), "Adagio Dancers Bondi"; Graham
McCarter (1940- ), "Opal Miner's Wife"; Robert McFarlane (1944- ), "Bea Nude"; David Moore (1927-
2003), "Sisters of Charity, Washington DC"; David Potts (1926- ), "The Rabbit Trapper"; Roger Scott (1944-
), "Queenscliff Sydney"; and Wolfgang Sievers (1913-2007), "Gears for Mining Industry".
Each photograph is signed and dated by the artist.
Australia has always been a land of infinite possibility for photographers, says Charles Leski. Every
photograph in this collection explores an aspect of the Australian identity, and confirms that our
photographers are the equal of any in the world.
Ten Australian Photographs Folio One will be offered for sale by Leski Auctions on Tuesday, December
2nd at 6.30pm. It has a pre-sale estimate of $40,000 - $50,000.
