Environments: RMIT printmaking residency exhibition
At the peak of summer each year, RMIT University School of Art Galleries and the
School of Art Printmaking Studio invite seven artists to take part in a three-month
artist residency program.
The upcoming exhibition, Environments, will showcase the art practices of Tony
Garifalakis, Anna Hoyle, Louisa Jenkinson, Cristina Palacios, Reko Rennie,
Stephen Spurrier and Sophia Szilagyi.
Through the disciplines of
printmaking, painting,
sculpture, photomedia and
drawing, these established
and emerging Australian
artists will exhibit work which
responds to the theme of
constructed environments.
From tongue-in-cheek
glimpses of gym culture to
filtered views of the sublime
deep wood, this exhibition
maps a location lodged
between the natural,
psychological and
sociological worlds.
Residency prints by these
artists will be available for
purchase by donation to the
RMIT School of Art Galleries.
