DB Schenker moves Dennis Hopper exhibition Down Under

ACMI re-appoints DB Schenker as preferred logistics partner for exhibitions

(Sydney, 26 October, 2009)

Schenker Australia Pty Ltd and The Australian Centre

for the Moving Image (ACMI) have renewed their logistics partnership for

2009/2010 including world famous exhibitions such as the Dennis Hopper and

the New Hollywood being displayed in Melbourne from 12 November 2009 until

25 April 2010.

As ACMI’s “Official Logistics Provider, Customs Clearance and Freight

Forwarding Agent”, DB Schenker moves more than 60 cbm of exhibition

material from various locations such as France (Cinemateque Francaise, Paris),

Germany (Museum Ludwig, Cologne) and the US (various locations including

even Dennis Hopper’s home) to Melbourne. Professional DB SCHENKERarts

teams will handle the exhibits with utmost care and an onboard courier will

travel with the display items to guarantee smooth transportation.

Richard Zimmermann, ACMI’s Marketing & Development Director, has

welcomed DB Schenker’s ongoing support: “As one of the world’s most

respected logistics provider, we trust DB Schenker and its very experienced

teams to securely and professionally deliver our exhibits,” Mr Zimmermann said.

Ron Koehler, Chief Executive Officer AU/NZ, Schenker Australia Pty Ltd says

“We are proud to be associated with this high-class exhibition and ACMI.

Dennis Hopper and the New Hollywood have travelled around the world and our

DB SCHENKERarts team in Melbourne will ensure safe and on-time delivery for

yet another great exhibition new to the Australian public.

About the Exhibition:

Audiences can engage in great depth and detail with the catalogue of work by a

courageous artist, reflecting on a bygone era which radically influenced the film

industry that exists today. In this unique exhibition, Dennis Hopper’s remarkable

body of work is put into context. As a ‘New Hollywood’ visionary, actor and

auteur, Hopper has occupied a key place in American cultural production from

the 1950s to today. He has collaborated with a vast range of artists, musicians,

actors, architects and filmmakers over the past forty years – most notably with

Francis Ford Coppola, Marcel Duchamp, Frank Gehry, Jack Nicholson, David

Lynch, and Wim Wenders.

Exhibitions at ACMI including Screen Worlds: The Story of Film, Television and

Digital Culture and Len Lye have already had great reviews from the Australian

public and there’s much more to come over the next months.
