‘DUETS VOLUME 1’

Collaborations between upcoming & established Australian urban artists

Available through itunes on Saturday November 28th & in stores Saturday 5th of December

Duets Volume 1 is the 6th release on the Suburban Grooves record label featuring seven young

emerging artists from Western Sydney. Suburban Grooves was set up by Information and Cultural

Exchange (ICE), an award winning arts and digital media organisation which supports arts

development and creative opportunities in Western Sydney.

‘Duets Volume 1’ features collaborations with Maya Jupiter, Ozi Batla (Astronomy Class), MC Trey,

MCNay (Last Kinection) and more. Production is handled by Mr. Zux who has worked with a wide

range of artists such as Mystro (UK), Sean Ray (Snob Scrilla) and KillaQueenz along with a bonus

remix track by one of Australia’s best known Hip Hop producers Chasm.

"ICE is committed to providing young musicians with avenues to distribute and share their music. We

are very proud of the Duets CD because not only does it feature some of Australia's finest urban

music artists, it also features some of our best emerging talent." ICE director - Lena Nahlous

Over a 3 month period, young artists from ICE’s Urban Music Project were chosen to work side by

side with established acts, who mentored them in song-writing sessions which resulted in seven

duets. The songs speak from the heart of these young artists and their stories of strength, positivity,

wisdom, hope, memories and relationships – from the streets.

DUETS CD will be launched on November 27 at Melt, 12 Kellet Street, Kings Cross. 8-10pm.

DUETS was managed by ICE and supported by Blacktown Youth Services Association with support

from Australia Council’s Music Program. This project received funding form Australia Council, Arts

NSW and Screen Australia and utilized the facilities of Switch Digital Arts Access centre, a

partnership with Parramatta City Council.
