Global Expansion Is Further Fueled As Johnny Rockets Opens Its First Restaurant In
Asia
LAKE FOREST, Calif., Oct. 6 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --
International Restaurant Chain Opens First Asian Location, in
The Philippines
Following recent franchise openings in Mexico, Germany and the Middle
East, Johnny Rockets announced The Philippines as the newest Home of the
Original Hamburger. The first Philippine restaurant opened its doors in
Quezon City, the nation's largest city, on Sept. 25 and, despite recent
tragedy, unified the community with a special grand opening celebration.
The new 2,240 square-foot restaurant is located in the Eastwood City
Mall, a state-of-the-art residential, business, and commercial entertainment
center. It is the first of up to twenty Johnny Rockets planned for The
Philippines and opening activities included an inspirational ribbon cutting
by Philippine Vice President, Noli de Castro, which showcased not only the
restaurant's decor, music and authentic American meals...but also the spirit
of his Countrymen.
"We are impressed with the fortitude and resiliency of the Filipino
people," stated Johnny Rockets Director of Communications, Cozette Phifer.
"Despite the extreme challenges and great adversity our Franchise Partners,
their employees and guests had to endure, they came together to demonstrate
the heart of their culture and the support they have for the community."
"Quezon City is the largest city in the Philippines and has proven to be
an ideal place to offer Johnny Rockets family-focused food and uplifting
atmosphere in the region's epicenter of commerce and social gathering," said
Dr. Amable C. Aguiluz IX, President and CEO of ACA Group, the Franchise
Owner. "In our first few weeks of business, our local community has shown its
support for our new business while enjoying our authentic American cuisine
and memory-making experiences. They have even participated with dancing
employees and enjoyed twirling straws and ketchup with a smile."
Eastwood City is a premier entertainment location in the Philippines that
boasts high-end boutique shops, a technology center, a movie theatre and a
concert venue. The new full-service restaurant employs 51 full-time employees
and offers Johnny Rockets' timeless favorites, including all-American
hand-pressed hamburgers, freshly made Philly Cheese Steak and Grilled Chicken
sandwiches and hand-dipped shakes and malts.
"The popularity and longevity of Johnny Rockets is based on more than
just decor and food quality...we deliver an experience, an attitude and a
depiction of the best America has to offer," said Steve Devine, senior vice
president of International Development for Johnny Rockets. "Our brand
continues to generate a tremendous amount of interest in Asian markets and we
have begun talks to develop restaurants in South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore,
Malaysia, Indonesia and Mainland China."
Currently, the chain boasts about 280 franchised restaurants, globally.
