Peter Lehmann Wines has once again been named Australian Wine Producer of the Year
by the International Wine & Spirit Competition. The Wine Producer announcements were
made last night at London’s prestigious Guildhall for its Annual Banquet and Awards
Ceremony.
This is the third time Peter Lehmann Wines has been awarded this trophy, having also won in
2003 and 2006, and reflects the tremendous results the winery has once again achieved in
this rigorous competition. As described by IWSC, these special producer trophies honour
“those producers in each of the main wine regions around the world that have demonstrated a
consistently high standard of winemaking throughout the competition.”
Speaking on the results came in, Andrew Wigan, Chief Winemaker at Peter Lehmann Wines
said, “The entire Peter Lehmann team is over the moon. This award reinforces the Barossa,
our growers and Peter Lehmann Wines as a force to be reckoned with on the world wine
stage. To win the International Riesling Trophy for the sixth time as well as 2 Gold medals for
Stonewell Shiraz and Futures Shiraz, highlights not only the quality but also the versatility of
this spectacular winemaking district.”
Peter Lehmann Wines’ Managing Director, Doug Lehmann, added, “It really has been a great
team effort and one that could not have been achieved without all the hard work and

the Barossa’s great winemaking tradition.”
