Former Blair Chief Legal Adviser to address international arbitration
Former UK Attorney General and Westfield Director, The RT Hon Lord Goldsmith QC,
PC, will be exclusively presenting to the boards of the Australian International Disputes
His address: "The challenge of meeting users' needs in international arbitration" is
timely given the recent legislative reform to make Australia an international arbitration
hub. Australia's first international dispute resolution centre opens in Sydney

About the RT Hon Peter Goldsmith QC, PC
The RT Hon. Peter Goldsmith QC, PC has been European Chair of Litigation at Debevoise since
September 2007. He served as the UKs Attorney General from 2001-2007, prior to which he was in
private practice as one of the leading barristers in London. During his time as Attorney-General,
Lord Goldsmith acted as Chief Legal Adviser to the UK Government on matters of domestic,
European and international law. He represented the UK Government in numerous cases in UK and
international courts. In 2008 he was appointed as a non-executive Director of Westfield Holdings
Limited in August 2008. He was created a Life Peer in 1999 and a Privy Counsellor in 2002 and he
remains a member of the House of Lords. Lord Goldsmith's other past positions include Chairman of
the Bar of England and Wales, Chairman of the Financial Reporting Review Panel, and founder of
the Bar Pro Bono Unit.
