Spanish Pangea Films Producing Company Starts Report Program across Eurasia for Shanghai World

Exposition


MADRID, Feb. 1 /Xinhua-AsiaNet/ --


    On Jan 28 of 2010, under the patronage of Ministry of Culture of Spain and a Spanish cultural organization -

Home of Asia, Spanish Pangea Films Producing Company officially starts the first significant activity in the

history of exchanges between Chinese and Western cultures, driving across Eurasia to report 2010 Shanghai

World Exposition.


    It is learned that the huge filming plan is named "MADHAI", which is composed of the first part of "MADRID"

and the latter part of "SHANGHAI", indicating the starting point and destination of the activity. The Spanish

government has regarded "MADHAI" as an important cultural exchange program for its participation in the

Exposition. It will not only be exhibited to the public during the five-month-long Exposition but also be

broadcast live on Television of Spain.


    As introduced by Pangea Films, two young directors of the company, with the theme "Better City, Better

Life" of Expo 2010 as their subject, will start driving from Madrid, capital of Spain, in March 2010, filming city

outlooks£¬local customs and practices of 14 countries, such as France, Italy, Serbia, Romania, Turkey,

Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyz. After entering Xinjiang, China, they will drive along Urumqi,

Lanzhou, Xi'an, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Wenzhou, etc. As planned, "MADHAI" will be completed before the

opening ceremony of Expo 2010 on May 1st. The whole journey will last for two months.


    Pangea Films also discloses that the two young directors, Marcos Mij¨¢n and Carlo Magnesi, from Spain

and Italy respectively, have finished preparations at present. Column makers are now collecting cultural

materials of the countries and regions. "MADHAI" will annotate cultural styles in different countries. Marcos

Mij¨¢n, has ever lived in Beijing for four years. He once worked in CCTV, took part in the entire journey reports

for 2008 Beijing Olympics and traveled in 19 provinces of China. He's confident in "MADHAI", "World Expo has

increasing become a grand meeting for world economy. China is a country with long orient civilization, which

adores international contact. It attracts 242 countries to attend World Expo the first time China holds it. I will

use my camera to record the beautiful cities and lives of different countries along the way. Through vivid

record, I want to promote historical and cultural merging of countries, particularly to display the lovely

hometown style of the Chinese Zhejiang people who have contributed a lot to the economic development of

Spain in a long time. As a result, Hangzhou and Wenzhou are included in the journey."


   Pangea Films is optimistic about the broadcasting prospect of "MADHAI" and extends great thanks to the

Spanish government's support to realize the plan. For this close to "adventure" driving across Eurasia in two

months, the company is still making thorough plans including marching line, scenic spot choice, safety

measures and fund arrangement.
