AUSTRALIAS NEW TV ARTS CHANNEL
LAUNCHES APRIL 1
Australias newest subscription television channel will be called STVDIO, launching on
FOXTEL and AUSTAR on Thursday April 1.
The name STVDIO represents the new channel perfectly, said SBS Director of
Marketing Jacquie Riddell, who is overseeing the creation of the channel with SBS
Director for Strategy and Communications, Bruce Meagher.
Every art form be it dance, fine art, music, theatre, film or writing is created in a
studio, Ms Riddell said. In addition to performance, our new channel will take
audiences into how art is made and what makes artists tick.
Both the channel name and logo have been stylised to include the letters TV.
Focusing on arts and entertainment, STVDIO will encourage viewers to see art in a
whole new light.
STVDIO will be the on air destination for arts and entertainment programming, news,
events, discussion and debate.
STVDIO: See art in a whole new light.
Showcasing the best of Australian and international arts, culture and entertainment
across the performing arts, cinema, books, opera, ballet, music, art and design,
STVDIO is operated by SBS subsidiary PAN TV.
STVDIO is on FOXTEL and AUSTAR on Channel 132 from April 1, 2010
