My sons wish
Single mum Lorinda and her only son Reace both lived with the fear that one
day soon she wouldnt be there for him. Lorinda has cystic fibrosis and was so
ill in January this year she was put on the lung transplant list. Just four months

Let it snow
Christmas came early to Kalgoorlie when a local school was transformed into a winter
wonderland. When parent Nikki read about a yoghurt competition and encouraged
kids at her daughters primary school to enter, the response was phenomenal to the
point where the little school of 410, with 1800 entries, won. Snow machines,
toboggans and snowmen turned the playground into a veritable white Christmas.

Talking point
Pensioner Wolfgang loved playing Santa at the local Stockwell shopping centre each
year. His part-time job restored his faith in the human spirit, he tells Take 5. But on
November 5, Wolfgang got a big shock under new government guidelines all
pensioners doing seasonal work would have to declare it to Centrelink. If he continued
playing Santa, hed have to live on less than his current pension!
