From dead to dream job
Motorbikes were Chriss passion. But one day in 2007 when he went out
for a spin he was involved in a horrendous accident. With extensive
injuries, he died on the operating table, but miraculously came back
to life and survived the surgery. On the long road back to health
Chris determined to push himself to full recovery and fitness. Now he
works at a local gym and wants to inspire others that its never too
late to follow your dreams.
A room of his own
Michael has cancer and at 12, in a family of seven kids, all he
wanted was his own room. When his teacher, John, called in to see him
one afternoon he realised the family had no way of finishing their
renovations. He did an appeal on radio and within a week a bunch of
tradesmen turned up and built Michaels room.
Strangers in the night
When Sharen moved towns in country NSW she set about making friends
in a very unusual way. She put an ad in the local paper, inviting
singles aged over 48 to dinner. It took a couple of days to kick off,
but eventually Sharen had 14 takers. Dinner was a huge success, so
much so that now its become a regular outing for the group.
