BELGIUMS ANSWER TO ANDRE RIEU
TO TOUR AUSTRALIA
Ovation Channel presents Helmut Lottis Australian tour this September.
Around the world, Belgians are famous for their delicious chocolate, but proving just
as irresistible is Belgian singing sensation, Helmut Lotti, who will be presenting a
series of concerts in Australia in September.
A crooner who has also been described as the New Elvis, Helmut Lotti is following
in the footsteps of Andre Rieu, having developed a huge Australian following through
his appearances on FOXTEL and Austars Ovation Channel.
For his Australian concerts, he will be accompanied by the Philharmonia Orchestra in
a musical event that will showcase his considerable talents and charm that has his
female fan base swooning.
Having been dubbed by the Flemish media as the New Elvis at an Elvis
impersonator competition when he was only 19, Helmut Lotti shot to super stardom
within months, dominating both Belgium and European charts and has now sold
more than 13 million albums worldwide.
Lotti first appeared on Australian television in 2008 with the Helmut Lotti Goes
Classic series, fast becoming one of Ovation Channels most popular artists. The
series featured classics such as Ave Maria, Tiny Hands Tiny Feet and Why from
Swan Lake. Now, almost two decades later, Lotti has achieved worldwide fame
Ovation Channel Managing Director, Gerry Travers says the wait for an Australian
tour for Lotti fans has been long, but it will be an entertainment experience like no
other.
Helmut has such an amazing presence, captured in both his musical genius and
intimate interaction with the audience, Mr Travers said.
Lottis tour through Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast is
on the back of the overwhelming interest we have received from the televised
concerts.
Lotti draws on the melodic tones of 1950s crooners, singing classical favourites, rock
and roll anthems, and many of his own written songs.
Lottis eclectic mix of popular musical styles has seen his popularity extend right
across the globe, with mass audiences throughout the European, African and
American continents. Fluent in Dutch, English, German and French, the talented
linguist has also recorded albums in Spanish, Italian, Hebrew, Russian and Latin.
