Brisbane Guitar Amp & Vintage Show set to rock RNA Showgrounds THIS WEEKEND - May 29 & 30
Australia's premier guitar event, Brisbane Guitar Amp & Vintage Show, is fine tuning preparations for their fourth annual showcase THIS WEEKEND at RNA Showgrounds, featuring a stellar line up of local and international live performers, competitions, clinics, forums and a massive stock blow-out.
Presented by iconic Brisbane guitar store Guitar Brothers in conjunction with leading independent instrument specialist's Ellaways Music, the 2010 Brisbane Guitar Amp & Vintage Show, will strike a chord with guitar fanatics and dabblers alike, offering two electric days of musical madness from over fifty exhibitors across 3,500 square meters making it Australia's largest guitar sale event.
The 2010 show will not only play host to the world's leading suppliers of guitars and amps including Gibson, who are giving away a Dark Fire guitar valued at $7,299, but also to a string of world renowned guitarists, including USA session legend Louie Shelton (The Jacksons, John Lennon, The Monkees, Seals & Crofts, Aretha Franklin) and Australian's own electric "wiz" Phil Emmanuel, whom will perform and host clinics and forums across the two days.
Shelton and Emmanuel are just two of the guitar greats to feature at the Brisbane Guitar Amp & Vintage Show 2010. The RNA Showgrounds will also rock with the riffs of New York's celebrated Martin Guitars' clinician Diane Ponzio; local veteran and trickster Nik Tongue; USA's Will Jones aka Dr Epiphone; Maton Guitars' Fingerstyle genius Michael Fix; jazz fusion extraordinaire Jim Kelly; slide legend Kirk Lorange; Australian rock blues great Tim Gaze; USA resonator songstress Kristina Olsen; LRB bass player George McCardle; surf-inspired lads Dejan Toracki, Sonic Edwards and Grant Collins; Australia's finest classical and flamenco guitarists Shenzo Gregorio and Gerard Mapstone; and more.
**Interviews available
Former Rolling Stones' tour manager, Sam Cutler will also appear at the show to sign his new book You Can't Always Get What You Want, an exhilarating, access-all-areas rock memoir tracing his time with two of the biggest and most lucrative touring rock 'n' roll bands in history, Rolling Stones and Grateful Dead.
With more than 4,000 guitars, amps, basses, banjos, mandolins, lap steels and related equipment to try, buy and drool over under the one roof, the Brisbane Guitar Amp & Vintage Show is a wonderland for the guitar enthusiast and an easy pick for this weekend's must-dos.
