CREATING MUSIC HISTORY FOR THE
INDEPENDENT AUSTRALIAN PUBLISHERS
Mushroom Music has signed its print rights to AMPD

The deal between Mushroom Music and All Music Publishing and Distribution (AMPD) became effective on 1 January
2008. It represents an important connection between two leading independent music publishers.

Mushroom Music was established by Michael Gudinski in the 1970s and has become an icon on the Australian music
landscape. The Mushroom catalogue is in itself a history of Australian rock and pop music. The largest of Australia's
independent publishers, Mushroom Music enters the 21st century with significant connections to many of the large
independent overseas publishers serving to make Mushroom Music one of the most vibrant and interesting publishers in
Australia.

The new partnership with All Music Publishing and Distribution (AMPD) is fitting, as AMPD is also Australia's largest
independent in the area of print music publishing. Formerly known as Allans Publishing, the business has grown through
its representation of the print rights of some of Australia's best contemporary rock and pop talent. AMPD has been prolific
in its output of quality, innovative print product to support the recorded releases of the artists and catalogues it represents.

"This is such a significant step for AMPD. It will be full steam ahead with production of print product to exploit the
Mushroom catalogue" says Catherine Gerrard, Executive Director, Publishing and Copyright of AMPD. Gerrard and her
business partner, Richard Snape, Executive Director, Sales and Distribution are delighted to be entrusted with such an
important task.

Ian James, Managing Director of Mushroom Music says he is looking forward to seeing some of the new print publishing
ideas discussed with Gerrard. These include artist album folios, new song folio offers, multi-media product and print
music digital downloads. These will be offered under the new rock and pop print music label created by AMPD:
Sasha Music Publishing.
